No Kings Protest- Greensboro, NC
                          April 19,2025
Photographing the No Kings protest in Greensboro on April 19th was an experience that stirred a complex mix of emotions in me—frustration, grief, defiance, and a deep sense of urgency.
There were a lot of people out there—many of them white—and that in itself said something. When folks who usually benefit from the system are taking to the streets, you know something is breaking open. The energy in the air wasn’t just resistance—it was exhaustion. A collective enough is enough.
I felt hurt. I felt afraid. But more than that, I felt fed up. It’s ridiculous that in 2025 we’re still forced to remind the people in power that they work for us—not the other way around. The idea that these so-called “kings” still believe they can rule unchecked, indefinitely? It’s laughable. History doesn’t remember those who clung to power with grace—it remembers the cracks, the uprisings, the people who said no.
These photos aren’t just documentation. They’re proof. That people still care. That people still fight. That no throne is built to last forever.
