Get Lost.
When I was younger, I was completely drawn to Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark by Alvin Schwartz. I mean, those illustrations? Disturbing in the best way. They weren’t scary to me back then—they were mesmerizing. I wanted to crawl inside that weird, shadowy world and see what else was hiding there.
Now that I’m in my thirties? Please. I wouldn’t dare explore anything like that today—I’ve got a healthy respect for the unknown. But I still love trying to recreate that same eerie, unsettling vibe. There’s something about that kind of spookiness that sticks with you.
